Hotel overbooked and we were moved
We had a really disappointing experience. We arrived early on our arrival day, hoping to leave our luggage and head out. The staff member on the front desk said the room was being cleaned so we could check in early in an hour or so if we would like. We agreed to pop back then after getting a bite to eat. When we returned we checked in, unpacked some items and headed to the beach. Upon return we were told they had accepted another booking for 9 rooms and so we would need to move to another one of their properties. They had packed up our room and would drop us by bike. We could then return the following day to stay in the hotel for our remaining 2 nights. Whilst we can’t fault Putu and his colleague who helped and were the middle men having to pack and move our stuff, I’m extremely disappointed with the owner for being greedy and taking on additional bookings which were only for 1 night and messing us around. Not once did the owner apologise or communicate these changed to us. I contacted hotels.com to request a partial refund for that night and the inconveniences but the owner refused. This is extremely disappointing and I really feel for the staff that were working as they were great and it shouldn’t reflect on them.
