The hotel was fine, but to charge us $7 a day for parking in an open lot that was not full and not tell us about it in advance seems pretty crappy. Don't offer me the free breakfast... just let me park.

When we arrived at the hotel the power was out. Hurricane Helene had hit. Although we had called ahead to be certain everything in Abingdon was safe and okay before going, the power was still on at that time so no one could know that shortly that would no longer be the case. We had to carry luggage up pitch black stairs. No help from anyone on staff. We were told breakfast would be served the next morning, regardless of the circumstances. That was not true. No offers were made to discount the rate, to adjust for the lack of power and a/c, to even address it in any way. The key cards were just handed over. I am certain the staff was in distress trying to adjust to the situation, but the absolute lack of assistance or concern or even an offer to adjust the hotel rates under the circumstances was unexpected.

Unless you want to be scammed, RUN!
Unless you have money to blow, do not book at this hotel! It has been a nightmare. I prepaid via Hotels.com then arrived at the hotel where they had no internet so could not properly check us in. I had to give my credit card for “incidentals” which they hand wrote on a piece of paper. I specially told them I had prepaid which the woman at the desk thanked me for. The thanks I got was they charged my card for the full amount (which I already paid) & REFUSE TO REFUND. When we contacted them about their error, they were rude and unprofessional & said I had to contact Hotels.com. They refuse to refund even after being contacted by Hotels.com letting them know I did in fact pay. They’re scamming their customers with false charges & refusing to correct it. Be safe & go somewhere else!
