This place is spectacular. I was not expecting the rooms to be as modern and comfortable as they are. The grounds and location right on the river are beautiful. I couldn’t pass up a ride on the attended 100+year old elevator when I first arrived even though I had only one floor to ascend. I really hope I can return for a longer stay.

Would recommend reserving a room on the view side which is stunning. The garden view is next to noisy highway.

Charming Historic Hotel
Beautiful property right on the Columbia River. Views everywhere. Historic Hotel that was a pleasure to stay in. Elevator carried on the history and required an elevator operator to run it...very charming.

Fabulous dog-friendly hotel
We went to Columbia Gorge Hotel and Spa for my girlfriends birthday weekend. It's a super cool old hotel with a spa attached that she was able to get a massage at, last minute notice. Very cool grounds and gardens to walk around on, and close to the bustling tourist town of Hood River. Will definitely be staying here again - and they're dog friendly!

Beautiful hotel with lots of character. Very clean. The grounds were amazing- gardens, waterfall, sitting areas- all well taken care of, even in October. Gorgeous view of the river. We appreciated the uniqueness of the hotel, which included the historic elevator, glass doorknobs, louvered doors at our room entrance. The only difficulty we experienced was when we tried to get our ice bucket filled. This had to be done at the check-in area, and with a staff member. We had to look everywhere for an employee and finally found someone in the restaurant to help out. A minor quirk to a pleasant stay.

Lovely old hotel
We enjoyed the ambience of this hotel...very classy. It was a bit of a nuisance to need an attendant for the elevator, though. In-room coffee would have been nice. Appreciated the fridge. It seemed that voices from the next room came through the bathroom register, which was annoying. Lovely old hotel and beautiful grounds.

Nice to stay in a period hotel
This is a fun older hotel. Our room was good but nothing fancy. They had an elevator and it was operated by an individual due to the era it was built. The outside area was nice with pounds, plants, ducks and a waterfall. It had great views of the Columbia River

Beautiful grounds, rooms were spacious, has the older building smell but that is normal for 100 year old buildings. Restaurant was good, fair portion suze, good quality but waiter could not figure out couples billing and thought we were a lot of hassle to deal with. No other Restaurants had this issue with us. We complained but had a generic response so don't waste your time complaining, they don't want to know how to improve service.
