Fun spot

We booked last minute during July which had lots of seaweed but we spent most of our time in the pool so we were fine. I’m positive they keep the beach very clean once seaweed season is over. The hotel could use a little updating but honestly I would book again. The food at all restaurants was very good and drinks were good. The pool activities were lots of fun. My room was very comfortable and clean and perfectly located to restaurants and pool (bldg 18) I have no complaints

Buen hotel pero adaptado a extranjeros

La estancia en general fue buena, estuvimos 3 noches y podría decir que fue una estancia amena. El hotel no es muy grande por lo que llegas a cualquier parte caminando. La comida es buena sin llegar a ser sobresaliente. En cuanto a bebidas mi esposa y yo no solemos tomar cocteles ya que siempre son muy dulces, probamos piñas coladas y mojitos y también eran muy dulces. El hotel está adaptado para extranjeros en cuanto a horarios, alimentos, y precios. Incluso durante los martes, que es noche mexicana, la comida no tiene un verdadero sazón mexicano. Algunos detalles a mencionar es que nos fue imposible encontrar camastros libres en el área de albercas, desde muy temprano en la mañana están todos apartados, aunque la mayor parte del tiempo los extranjeros están en la alberca y en realidad no los utilizan. El otro detalle fue con la información respecto a los restaurantes, durante el check in nos dijeron que todos salvo el restaurante bufete necesitaban reservación, pero al segundo día nos dimos cuenta de que no, se puede ir a cualquiera sin reservar, solo el teppanyaki en el restaurante japonés necesita reservación. No creo que me volvería a hospedar en el hotel, en general no fue una experiencia mala pero me gusta probar nuevos hoteles y este no me pareció fuera del promedio.

This place is incredible - best all-inclusive vacation yet! The staff are so kind, friendly, and helpful. The entertainment is on point, espexially because of Kendall -his presence alone was sure to put a smile on anyone's face...everyome.loves him and he will get a laugh put of even the most stubborn person - I think I will moss him the most! The food was also incredible - every place we ate at was delicious (the buffet, the mexican, japanese and french). We were most disappointed woth the italian, but it was still good! Everything was simply amazing - will definitely return next year!

Stayed at Ocean Maya Royale for 5 nights: QUICK REVIEW: Beach = 3/5 Food = 5/5 Staff = 5/5 Front Desk = 2.5/5 Cleanliness = 5/5 DETAILED REVIEW: - Beach was big, sand was beautiful, but way too much seaweed, made the water not swimmable. Water more brown ocean water vs the crystal blue you see in the pictures, most likely due to the amount of seaweed. Do not recommend this resort if you are someone who enjoys swimming in the ocean. - Food was amazing, buffet and restaurants, we didn't have one bad meal. - Although majority of staff was 5/5, I would not say the same for the front desk. Upon arrival they had told us because we were an expedia member we would have a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us when we entered our room. There was no bottle of wine. We called and asked if someone could bring it up, it never came. The next day we went in person and asked, again they said they would send it up, and it never came. The third day again we asked in person, same thing never came. On the forth day we went again in person they said they would send someone up in 20mins, nobody came. One hour later I called they said someone would come, they didn't. 6 hours later I called again, they stated perhaps my "do not disturb sign was on", it wasn't and I had been in the room all day due to not feeling well. Once I told the front desk this and how I had been waiting 6+ hours, they finally sent someone to my room with the bottle of wine. It shouldn't have taken 4 days for this.

the property is very clean with beautiful landscape. it is relatively small so you get to all the restaurants in no time. the staff is very courteous, professional and accommodating. they don’t ask for any gratuity. the entertainment is also very good. there is different theme every night and it is so relaxing to sit outside with your favorite cocktails enjoying the show.
