I lovely hotel with very polite, welcoming and professional staff. The rooms are cool, clean and well kept and there is a breakfast hall and adjoining cafe. As a hotel Geusthouse Amman met and exceeded all our of requirements; amazing value for money.
In terms of location, the hotel is about 15 minutes taxi from downtown and the main restaurants and inner-city tourist sites which means they can be reached easily in a taxi for less than 5JD (don't overpay, the staff will order you an Uber if you ask). The only difficulty we had was that there are two "Geust house" hotels in Amman, so it's important to make sure you direct taxis to the right one. The staff gave us business cards with the address and also wrote out instructions in Arabic that we kept with us to show to taxi drivers.
The photos of the rooms undersell the hotel which is clad in cool white marble throughout and feels classical and sleek. There is an attached Cafe, but otherwise the facilities are basic: this is a base camp from which to explore Jordan rather than a spa resort.
Several reviews mention the breakfast options. While the hotel does not offer extensive breakfast options, there was enough to keep us going over a four day stay. While we were there breakfast included: scrambled eggs, sausages, omelette, tomatoes, cucumber, local cheese, various breads, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee, and cake. Guests expecting a full-English will be disappointed.
