Old Time Motel- Excellent!
If you need a fancy place with new everything- stay away- BUT if you like (or love in my case) small older motels stay here. Clean, showers great- new bed and excellent cable system. Stay away from the chain hotels and give this place a try!

Not bad for the price
We had a very clean room. Bring your slippers because the floors are cold. Also the heater was noisy.

The property is owned by a nice family who are very friendly and helpful with information about the area.

Owners were more than kind and hospitable, very friendly and clean with super comfy beds. Will be my go-to motel in Alpena. Sure beats the chains and restaurants very close.

Great place to watch the fireworks and access the beach.

Have never stayed anywhere that was so clean! Housekeeping gave us a room refresh on Saturday for our weekend stay. The room has a lot of character complete with original tile! Was an amazing location. Price for what you get is completely fair. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks Big Bear we had a great time visiting Alpena!!

We love staying here and we will continue to be return customers. Better imho than the name brand hotels hands down.
Diane, 2-night trip

The owners were very friendly and the motel was a wonderful mom and pop place! Much better than any of the big chains. I loved the fact that it was older but well cared for. The beds were very comfortable, although they could do with some new pillows.

Cute retro hotel
Cute family owned hotel. It’s an old place that has been refurbished and retained retro style with modern conveniences (wifi, refrigerator, microwave). It’s well taken care of, clean, comfortable, and in good location. Proprietors were very friendly. My only recommendation for the owners is add some curtains to better block out light (this is a common hotel issue). I will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Great property. Small but quaint. Served our purpose.

The room was comfortable. Good size with large bathroom and shower. The downside is room service will come in whether you want them to or not.

It was clean, accessible and easy check in and out. It is also affordable compared to other hotels/motels in the area. I will defiantly stay there again should I be in the area.

Worth a visit
This place is very transparent. They claim the property is 70 years old. It being as old as it is it’s very nice. Shows some aspects of age but I enjoyed my stay. For the price I got what I paid for. If need I would stay again.
Joe, 1-night trip

Cute mom and pop motel. No frills but very clean and comfortable beds. Bathroom is in the small side as well as the room but works if just needing a place to sleep. Owners were very friendly.
