Front desk staff were unpleasant with check in and check out. Room was decent, though parts of the wall were coming off and a used towel was left in the bathroom when we checked in.
I never write bad reviews but the cherry on top was the fact that we went out of our way to book a hotel (paying more than other better locations in Fairbanks), and was never notified that it was closed for maintenance, which resulted us buying swimming gear upon arrival (of Fairbanks) and not able to use it. When asking the front desk if this was for a short period of time or this was for a longer period, they mentioned the maintenance man would be there soon and should open the pool shortly. An entire day passed and still no pool. I understand pool maintenance and how things go unplanned, but informing guests upon arrival that it would be closed would have easily solved things.
We frequent Fairbanks, with a family member on the local hockey team, and will ensure to keep this experience in mind when booking future stays.
The good feedback was that the cleaning and kitchen staff were top tier and extremely welcoming: would be better to have them to great guests when arriving in my opinion.
