booked 6 rooms (pay at the property). 3 days prior to arrival, a frontdesk officer called to offer me a “lower rate” given that i cancel my bookings thru hotels.com & book directly with them. I politely declined since i booked a pay at the property rate wc is usually higher than non-refundable&pay upon booking rates. However, they obliged me to pay half of the total amount of the 6 rooms citing that it’s peak season (why offer pay at the property rates then?). i paid 50% prior to arrival to secure the booking and to avoid any cancellation.
Upon arrival, check in experience was ok. Rooms were ok except for the no phones to use to call frontdesk or housekeeping for assistance just in case wc is such a hassle.
Breakfast buffet experience was ok (food not so yummy except for dimsum) during the first day but on the second day, it was terrible. We arrived past 9am since it was christmas day, we woke up late. tables were no longer set, when i asked for utensils, a female attendant told me to check in the basket near the dimsum area.
As to the christmas buffet, spread was good but the entertainment felt like it was a wedding banquet because of the song choices of the live band.
Request for room upgrade for a fee was granted (thanks to Ms. Mona - the only exception to the generally poor service). However, the room given was not thoroughly clean when we arrived. The toilet still had urine from the previous guest i guess & roach too
Hotel staff do not smile. We did not feel welcome.
