This property is a hidden gem! What a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Beautiful garden with towering redwood trees to relax and enjoy, every amenity available to us to use at our leisure, very comfortable bed and pillows, very welcoming and thoughtful staff and a great breakfast. I can't say enough...it truly was perfect! As far as we are concerned, there couldn't possibly be any better place to stay in Big Bear and we cannot wait to return and stay again!

Stayed in the Bessi Room-apparently there are some issues with maybe pollen coming through the filter of the AC? The first night we had terrible allergies, unfortunately- couldn’t breathe and eyes were swollen- Other than that, it was a beautiful clean room- the grounds are kept up nicely- if you’re going to enjoy the fire pit at night, keep your voice down or the next-door neighbor’s dog will start howling and barking- lol The other guests were great to hang out with for breakfast, and the breakfast itself was good- We stayed on Fourth of July weekend- kind of wish we did our research a little better and knew about the place nearby closing at 6 PM (Wyatts) because we walked all the way over there, thinking it would be open and it was closed- perhaps on a holiday weekend, letting the guest know what’s nearby for options would be good- As far as taking care of the allergies in the Bessie room, I was provided a fan the second night which really helped (thank you Alicia) All in all the owners were very communicative and seemed very nice. I believe she was there on Sunday morning serving breakfast. I would recommend this place and come back as long as we have the fan lol

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Gold Mountain Manor! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. The entire property is so peaceful, and we loved spending time relaxing and taking in the beautiful garden. Rocket absolutely loved swinging on the bench with us there! Our room was super clean, immaculately maintained, and featured a very comfortable bed that made it easy to get a great night's rest. A huge bonus for us was how super pet-friendly they are—it is rare to find a place that is both beautiful and so genuinely welcoming to pets. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing getaway and highly recommend this beautiful manor! Special Thank you to Toni who welcomed us with such a warmth and kindness.

The owner and help were really friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and there were several unexpected amenities. Like I loved the lavender mister. The breakfast was very nice and is served out in the patio overlooking the area that's used for weddings. The only ding I would give them is when we couldn't make breakfast our first morning there was meager options. All were full of sugar. I'd like to see some healthier options

We don’t often ‘Review’, leaving that to others … But, where shall we start? … Built in 1928 as “Murmuring Pines”. Today it’s best known as the Gold Mountain Manor, a wonderful, historically maintained Bed-and-Breakfast. The original builder family invested in the early West Coast Movie Business and their sprawling 25 acre ranch Main House sufficed to keep the ‘who’s who” of Hollywood away from public eye. The current day Manor rests on an acre. It’s authentic "ranch-style" Log Mansion is an example of early 20th-century luxury architecture. CHARMING. As first time Bookers here, we were ‘Internet Skeptical’ but that was laid-to-rest the moment we drove up and was greeted by one of the owners, Darrin. Located on the North side of Big Bear Valley in a quiet area tucked slightly inland from the water’s edge of beautiful Big Bear Lake. The 7,000sf mansion exudes common areas large enough for entertaining. The main room grand fireplace is built from quartz mined from Gold Mountain. Looking closely, you can see flecks of gold embedded. Of the current day 7 Suites, we chose the Cozy Pine with its modernized rustic feel, a tree inspired 7 foot poster bed, a slate-surrounded jacuzzi tub for two, remote-controlled fireplace and in-room TV and Coffee. ........ continued on next review ......

This property has very sketchy underlining fees. Do not say here. The property sounds like it is breaking down and needs clear fixing up. The host will try to charge your card for fees they did not tell you about after the fact. They also create fake fees like noise complaints in hopes that you will pay extra money. Whatever you do not stay here.

Lovely place to stay

This is a charming, traditional B & B! The staff is very friendly. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. A gourmet breakfast is served at a common table which was fun and delicious! There are games and activities for both indoors and outdoors. The front garden is lovely even at night when it is lit with fairy lights.

Do not book if you have children under 5 years old. I did not actually stay here. I purchased a one night stay through Expedia. Within 10 minutes the bed and breakfast called me directly to confirm my arrival time. I informed them that I have small children. The gentleman stated they do not allow children under 5. i did not see this on the listing prior to booking the one night stay. I gave five stars because he was able to quickly help me get a refund even though it was listed as non-refundable.

As a true bed & breakfast, the stay was fantastic. The food was excellent - omelets, french toast, fresh fruit yogurts, etc. all served out on the patio for a beautiful start to the day. The room was comfortable and cozy. And they truly are pet-friendly. We were able to bring our little dog with us and had a nice, relaxing weekend.
