I stayed at Castlemyrtle Resort before moving over to Ballymaloe House Hotel. I expected comparable comfort—especially since I’m paying more here—but key amenities like air conditioning and a TV were missing.
Dinner was, frankly, disappointing for the price. The food lacked creativity and flavor, and the service fell short. Trainees were serving and couldn’t explain the dishes or answer basic questions about the food. Really? When you’re paying over $100 per person for a meal, you expect servers who are at least knowledgeable. The staff were friendly, but the lack of expertise was noticeable.
Outside of the beautiful setting, everything else felt mediocre.
