Great location

Front desk was fast and friendly check in. The room was spacious with a comfy bed. We enjoyed the fireplace in the room, one log is complementary. Great amenities from the pool, hot tub and the breakfast in the morning was a plus. Close to downtown, the beach and more. I will totally recommend.

Peaceful retreat

We were quite pleased with our stay. Nothing fancy, but comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room and public areas were very clean and had everything we needed. Microwave, frig, coffee pot and the towels and linen were perfect. The breakfast room was clean with seating inside or outside overlooking the pool area. Parking was easy. The hotel was in the best location for us, close to a golf course and not far from the bay or downtown. We will return the next time we are in that area.

Great hotel in Pacific Grove

Clean, comfortable well located hotel. The breakfast was good, Eggs, fruit, yogurt, croissants, milk, OJ and good coffee. They had instant oatmeal, would have liked plain instead of only the sugary ones and dry cereal would’ve been a good option. Otherwise the breakfast was good. We would stay again.

Lovely Resort

My friend and I had a delightful stay at Monarch Resort. Our room was comfortable and clean. I loved the fireplace in the room with the Duraflame fire log. They gave us a log for each night. The hot tub was hot and clean. The complementary breakfast was awesome: fresh croissants and muffins, boiled eggs and fruit, hot coffee and tea. The greenery and dolphin statues inside the hotel added to its charm. We will be coming back.

Convenient location

Quiet neighborhood, parking was close to the door. Had an elevator, which many other hotels nearby did not. Hot tub and sauna felt good after walking all day. Near the lighthouse, aquarium and restaurants. Fresh squeezed orange juice and continental breakfast of muffins, bagels, boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, etc. Refrigerator and microwave in room.

Family stay

We stayed here for a nights. The only issue we had was the mattress springs seemed to have had it. We did sleep but the bed wasn't that great. Staff very helpful and polite.

Just right

Last minute get away, found this place for a reasonable (for the area) rate and booked it. No regrets. Pacific Grove is a lovely, walkable community. The room is a bit dated, but very clean, water pressure good, bed was ok, ample parking on site. Just what we needed, as our main focus was to explore the area. Walked to the lighthouse, John Denver memorial, down around Ocean Dr.,and back up to Lighthouse Ave. to grab a bite.(Red House Cafe!!) Monarch Resort has a friendly, welcoming front desk and just what you need for breakfast to head out on your way for the day. Will book again!! ◡̈

Sauna, Hot Tub, Fireplace

Another review said something about there being a hot tub, heated pool, sauna, and an in room fireplace. Yep and yep. The place reminds me of an “old person’s home” from an 80’s movie. It’s a little dated but the lack of modernity doesn’t make it any less cozy and comfortable. It could use an upgrade with breakfast. While the boiled eggs were hot, there was no cereal. Variety of bagels, yes. Variety of milk, no. Honey for your tea, yes. Decaf or herbal tea, no.
