Stayed there with my girlfriend to recharge after a night of mosquitoes and rain in Everglades National Park. The owner, Mike, and all of his staff are welcoming and sociable. Interior is a little run-down, but clean and vibrant. The backyard will take your breath away. This place is his passion project, he bought it in total disrepair and has put 5 years now into renovating the place for young travelers looking for some nightlife fun and affordable accommodations. He also hosts reggae parties during holidays, with a fog machine, lasers, and DJ. Mike and the crew have big plans for their hostel, and he’ll gladly chat with you all morning about it. Can’t wait to go back for a NYE party once his smoothie bar (using local produce) and his Caribbean food stand get finished. Seriously, if you’re okay with a communal bathroom, come stay at a slice of Jamaican paradise right between Everglades and Key Largo.
