The hotel is ideally located just next to Avenida Paulista, and Consolacao and Paulista metro stations; the GRU airport bus service pick-up and drop-off stop is only 2 minutes' walk away, in front of the Ibis Budget hotel on Avenida Paulista. A small but well-stocked supermarket is immediately next door in case you get the munchies or you forgot to pack your toiletries.
However, the hotel is rather basic, and is situated on a noisy busy road, but this is reflected in the room rate - if you want something more comfortable, there are plenty of other, more expensive, options in the immediate area. Although dated and tired looking, the hotel is kept clean and tidy, and there are numerous fresh options offered for the buffet breakfast. The buffet dinner is a bit of a let-down though - just 4 different types of soup are offered, along with bread rolls - although this does only cost R$20 (less than £4). Rather inexplicably, wet / dirty towels are left by the cleaner in a plastic bag in the bathroom until the end of your stay - if you want fresh towels, you have to ask for them.
The generally young staff are all friendly and efficient and, because only one of them (Tomaz) speaks English, this is a good incentive to start practicing your Portuguese!
