Insa-dong
Insa-dong's narrow alleys buzz with cultural treasures around every corner. Browse artisan workshops where craftspeople create traditional pottery, hanji paper goods, and calligraphy scrolls. Jogyesa Temple's golden Buddha statues and colorful lanterns provide a peaceful escape, while Ssamziegil's spiral shopping complex houses quirky boutiques and art galleries. Street vendors tempt you with hotteok pancakes and other Korean treats. Tea houses serve omija tea and rice cakes in traditional hanok buildings with wooden facades and curved tile roofs. Most shops open from 10 AM to 8 PM, with the main street becoming wonderfully pedestrian-only on weekends. Nearby Anguk Station connects you to Seoul's excellent subway system when your shopping bags get too heavy to carry.

Gangnam-gu
Heavily concentrated wealth and high-end shopping areas like Apgujeong, COEX Mall, and Garosugil define this district. Explore Bongeun Temple and savor modern Korean cuisine at upscale restaurants near Park Hyatt Hotel.

Itaewon 2-dong
Seoul's Itaewon district serves up a global buffet for your senses with international restaurants, bars, and shops around every corner. Hunt for treasures on Antique Furniture Street or escape the urban buzz with a hike in nearby Namsan Mountain Park. Accommodation options range from budget-friendly guesthouses to stylish boutique hotels catering to international travelers. The neighborhood truly comes alive after dark when its famous nightlife scene kicks into high gear.

Samcheong-dong
Samcheong-dong blends Seoul's past and present through stone-paved alleys and hanok houses with curved tile roofs. Art lovers can hop between traditional buildings that now house galleries and boutique shops. The National Folk Museum offers a deep dive into Korean heritage, while nearby Bukchon Hanok Village creates the perfect backdrop for culture seekers. Traditional tea houses serve omija tea alongside modern fusion cafés, creating a diverse dining scene in historic settings. The neighborhood is best explored on foot, with Anguk Station just five minutes away for easy access to other Seoul attractions. "That was my another Toyoko stay. Compare to others that was not the best. Breakfast was OK but the room was not clean, hair was everywhere. Bed was comfortable, bigger then other hotels offered."
LOTTE CITY HOTEL MYEONGDONG
"Great location..Very clean hotel and good restaurants"
Toyoko Inn Seoul Gangnam
"One downside is that the hotel room was smaller than I thought it would be."
THE GRAND LOTTE SEOUL (Formerly: Lotte Hotel Seoul)
"Great hotel"
Dormy Inn SEOUL Gangnam
"Amazing!"
Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun Hotels & Residences
"It was a good experience overall but there were some inconsistencies from housekeeper. They took our bathrobes and never gave us replacements right after the first and second day of our stay. They also didnt provide trash bags for the garbages in the bathroom and kitchen except for the first time which feels strange for a 5 star hotel but overall, I am thankful for the job they did helping us clean up the room and there were no other qualms besides that. The washer dryer combo was terrible though and I do not recommend using it unless you plan on being there when it finishes because your clothes will just be a soaking wet mess after the “dry cycle.”"

For a great value for money experience, staying for at least 2 to 3 days allows you to explore key historical and cultural landmarks. You can visit magnificent castles, vibrant shopping districts, intriguing museums, serene temples, and notable monuments, all while enjoying delicious dining options and charming cafes. This timeframe not only helps you save on accommodation but also offers ample opportunity to immerse yourself in Seoul's rich history and culture.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover great hotel deals for Seoul by checking the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com, where discounted rates on hotels could be available. Additionally, using the Smart Shopping tool on the app, you can compare hotel prices and amenities to ensure you're getting the best offer available. By enabling alerts, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions, keeping you informed about opportunities to save.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay in a Seoul hotel. If you're interested in unique accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized experience and could offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we can suggest more affordable dates that might help you find a great option.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city center generally tend to be pricier, but with Seoul's outstanding public transportation system, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that still has great connections. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there are often excellent value options available. Opting for these alternative destinations can provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
