Osaka and related destinations

Between the neon-lit Dotonbori district and majestic Osaka Castle lies a city that takes food more seriously than most nations take foreign policy. The covered arcades of Nipponbashi offer everything from manga to electronics, while locals debate which street vendor makes the definitive takoyaki. Universal Studios Japan delivers theme park thrills, but the real adventure happens at Kuromon Market where vendors slice fish with surgical precision. The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan houses whale sharks in tanks so vast you'll question your place in the universe. After dark, join salary men unwinding over kushikatsu – deep-fried skewers that demand respect for the 'no double-dipping' rule.

Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA

10/10 Excellent
"Best hotel for families in Osaka because of location. Room was comfortable and facilities very clean and well maintained. Luggage forwarding to and from airport also available. Laundry machines were available throughout the day, buffet breakfast very child friendly and had a bit for everyone. Location was key, could get to Umeda and other connecting trains all covered and underground. Only complaint: there was no room to store clothes. The closet was full of stuff like slippers, emergency supplies, luggage shelf. We had to use the window ledge for clothes."

10/10 Excellent
"The place is convenient in namba. The location is a little off the common stations but it is pretty good once you get used to it. I like the hotel and things are new. The breakfast is ok and it does have some interesting Osaka flavors. The staffs are extremely friends and helpful. For example, the phone map does not give a good recommendations to the airport and the staff has recommended an even better path for me going to the airport. The travel is easier and time saving. Overall, I like the hotel and I can stay there again"

Hearton Hotel Shinsaibashi

8/10 Good
"The hotel is generally clean and comfortable. For the price, you get value out of it. The staff is less courteous than staff at other Japanese hotel. But is generally helpful. Maybe the staff thinks Hearton is a budget hotel and therefore doesn’t need to be at a higher level of courtesy. One thing I would not recommend is the breakfast. There are few dishes. Most of them are cold or salad dishes. The rice is some type of brown rice. That is a big disappointment. No warm noodles. Overall, it s a good hotel for the price. But don’t pay for the breakfast."

"Nice hotel, conveniently located near Shin-Osaka Station. Our room was very comfortable and spacious, with good beds, a washing machine, and all the amenities we needed. As we were staying on one of the higher floors, we also had a lovely view over the city. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, with the famous takoyaki (octopus balls) and other local specialities to try. We were also able to leave our luggage at reception for a couple of days while travelling to another city, which was incredibly convenient."
