We stay at Cambria whenever we want to do an overnight downtown. It’s not right in the middle of the action downtown, which we like, but close enough to take an affordable uber. The decor is stunning, the staff are always very friendly and helpful, and it’s very clean. The only things I would recommend is getting a better brand of bottled water for the rooms, and also having something in the rooms that gives more info on everything the hotel has to offer, like the restaurants, bars,...

Everything was excellent minus the fire alarm that went off in the whole building at 9am. Staff ensured everything was fine, but my partner was locked out of our room for 5-10min as she exited the room when building alarm went off. I can give a pass this time since the rest of the stay was excellent!

For an affordable experience, it's recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days to fully appreciate the city's key landmarks and cultural attractions. During your visit, you can explore the vibrant theater scene, lively live music venues, impressive architecture, and significant historical sites. You'll also find great value for money in dining options that reflect the city's rich cultural heritage.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover great savings on hotels in Detroit, explore the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates close to your travel date. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you seize opportunities to save. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re well-informed. With these features, you'll be among the first to know if prices drop or rooms become available, making it easier to book a last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal for your stay in a Detroit hotel. If you're in search of something special, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans toward the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you discover a great option.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Detroit's great public transportation system, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit farther out that’s still conveniently connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value available. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more genuine and budget-friendly experience.
