Can't leave your luggage
When you walk into reception its quite an experience. If you can get through the main door (good luck with the QR code). First you're welcomed by nudity on the wall (so good luck if you have small children) but unfortunately not by staff because there isn’t any. You have to check in through video chat and no one can speak English so it takes forever just to get your keys for the room. Very unwelcoming atmosphere because there is no one and you cant even leave your luggage before check in because there's no staff there, its sad. Whats worse is this really screwed us over, we travelled 18 hours on a plane with 4 suitcases only to be told we cant keep them at reception for a few hours. My wife is pregnant so she can't carry anything so then we have to pay for a taxi to the city just to pay for a luggage storage facility for 3 hours all in 30°C heat and 90% humidity. It's totally nasty to mess people around like that, not tourist friendly at all clearly. Makes you wonder how a hotel business can even operate like that? Totally bizarre.
P.s the washing machine smells awful in the room, not good by Japanese cleanliness standards when we've stayed at other places cheaper and way cleaner. Very disappointed but then what would you expect from a place called 'New Normal'. Pros: TV was decent and kitchen utensils available. Wouldnt stay again. Very very disappointed.
