I loved this little gem of a hotel. The staff is lovely and the hotel is affordable and really clean. The walls are also super thick so you don’t hear the baseball games that might happen across the street. I also loved the location. The street is quiet but metro close and so many places walkable. I’ll certainly stay here again,

Our stay at Hotel Niwa made our Japan trip exceptional! As American travelers in our early 30s, we found this place to be a gem in Tokyo.
The hotel's ambiance was simply beautiful, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious for a city known for compact spaces. Its prime location, just a 5-minute walk from a JR line, made navigating Tokyo incredibly convenient. Plus, being within walking distance of fantastic restaurants and yes, even the indispensable 7-11s, added immense value to our stay.

This was a well-maintained hotel with wonderful staff. The room itself was lovely and has great amenities. The 3 twin room was surprisingly spacious for 3 people. The on-premises restaurant was great too.
The location is quiet and spacious which is a nice change from the surrounding metro area. It is literally next to a train station so transit is a breeze.
My only real complaint is that the laundry facility was too small. There were often 2 hour lines of folks waiting to get loads...

Great location in Asakusa! Convenient to multiple train lines, food, shopping and temple grounds. Rooms are bigger than anticipated but minimal storage, no drawers and small closet. Premier lounge was a pleasant surprise and appreciated. 4th floor izakaya style food court was not up to par and disappointing, chose elsewhere to eat. Kobe restaurant is over priced and seldom busy. Uniglo store was a great! Don Quixote is a tourist trap and overpriced! Recommend and would return.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Tokyo
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Tokyo is in January, August, and September, when hotel prices are typically lower. For those on a budget, staying for at least 2 to 3 days is a great value for money, allowing you to discover essential landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions. During your visit, you can explore beautiful temples, informative museums, impressive monuments, and vibrant urban areas, as well as enjoy shopping experiences, stunning architecture, and the serene beauty of natural parks and flowers—all of which showcase the rich culture of Tokyo.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: When planning a trip to Tokyo, you may discover great options on Hotels.com by exploring the Dealsopens in new window section, which offers a variety of hotel deals in Japan. For those seeking last-minute options, the Last-Minute Deals area could be ideal, with available discounts near your travel date. Also, the Smart Shopping tool on the app serves as a useful comparison tool to evaluate hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re more likely to see updated offers and availability for your favorite Tokyo hotels.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your hotel stay in Tokyo. If you're interested in a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that might be more affordable, helping you to potentially find a great deal.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Tokyo's outstanding public transportation system, you can often find more affordable independent hotels a bit farther out that are still well-connected. For travelers interested in discovering alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there’s often great value to be found. Opting for these alternative locations can provide a more authentic experience while being budget-friendly.
