My problems started, first thing on the morning that I was due to arrive. I woke up to a text message fm my bank on my mobile (09.35) telling me that my bank account was overdrawn. The hotel, had taken my full payment, contrary to Hotels.com correspondance (on arrival) No chance to place my hotel funds into correct account!
All started off okay, though noted that place was dated in decor and dimly lit. (As expected fm past reviews) I had requested a cool twin room, as I don't react well to heat & daughter & I asthmatic. Got this.
We returned, late eve, after going out for a meal & I sat down on my bed. I started to fall sideways & investigation revealed that the bed-base was broken from the bottom half downwards!!
A friendly receptionist apologised and returned with a male colleague. He inserted a thin camp-bed mattress folded in half) under the bed base to make it same height as pillow end. Both daughter and I, though, were uncomfortable in our beds, both nights & hardly slept. Nearly ruined daughter's graduation day. No offer of a different room. Five minutes after that, attempted to switch on TV. to find that the batteries in remote were flat.
Other problems were mouldy smell fm bathroom basin plughole & noisy air conditioning. Although the room was a lovely size, the place lacked TLC all over.
Breakfast was rather uninspiring and impersonal, for £9.95 & bought our own equivalent, elsewhere in a local cafe for half the price, the following morning.
Won't be back.
