Really nice property - we were very happy with the generous bathroom and bedroom size, right in the middle of the Gion area. The room felt luxurious while not being over the top. We had a few free beverages in the fridge and downstairs. The bathroom amenities were very nice as well. Staff was kind and since their recent renovation the entire hotel and our room were all very clean and new with nice design features. Would stay here again without hesitation, no negative aspects!

Great place to stay in Gion. Easy walk to everything and taxis easily found. Hotel is quiet and rooms and bathrooms were in great condition. You cannot check in until 3pm but they stored our luggage. Also this hotel does not have food service on site but easy to walk to restaurants and family mart for beverages. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Fantastic property! It’s in a quiet area of Gion, which really slows down at night, but easily walkable to popular areas. The room and service was fantastic, zero complaints. We loved the private spa/tub on the balcony. The steam room was also a big bonus after walking so much during the day. I hope to come back here on our next trip to Kyoto!

This is honestly one of my favorite hotel rooms of my life. I stayed in the room with a king bed. It was a spacious room that included a couch. It was easy to stream to the TV and the TV is visible from the couch and TV. The air conditioning worked great and the room also has a large tub with jets. The shower and bathroom were great as well. Finally, the room’s aesthetic is beautiful and looks traditionally Japanese. They also held our luggage for free after checking out. Also, the WIFI was good and the staff were friendly and spoke decent English.

This hotel and rooms were gorgeous. Big bath with TV. I would stay here again and recommend to friends and family. No breakfast on site but we do not have breakfast anyway. Room had fridge, kettle and microwave. Free drinks in the fridge. Free water and coffee between 7am and 9pm in the lobby. Free laundry on top floor. My only criticism is that rooms are not serviced daily. You have to put dirty towels and rubbish out each morning. A fresh bag is hung on your door. If you stay more than 4 days you can ask for room cleaning after 2nd day. The room quickly got dusty and floors messy and I find seeing this not relaxing. I personally like to come back to a made bed and swept floor and a little spruce up. I would suggest to the hotel they offer every other day cleaning. Other than this it is perfect.

This hotel is a great starting point for the Gion area. Just a five minute walk to the bus stop, or a 10-15 minute walk to the rail station. All the staff were polite and courteous. We arrived early, so we were able to leave our bags there, and when we checked in, they were already in our room. It doesn’t have a pool or gym, but you can expect a quiet location with mostly adult clientele. There were a lot of beverages available without charge (water, tea, and beer). It was a nice mix of modern with traditional touches. Would recommend to couples. Added bonus for us, there were multiple grounded plugs for our American electronics.

I don’t know why this hotel has received such a high rating. I was deceived. While it was clean and the front desk was polite, there was no window in my room at ALL and the room itself lacked any of the charm the property listing promised. It’s overrated, overpriced, and disappointing.
