Decided on 2 nights stay at this location. Did not know about it previously, Found it on Hotels.com. It sounded great. It was great. The whole atmosphere was great and steeped in history. The gardens and grounds were great to stroll around in. We booked the standard room which was very nice and clean. Bed was a little firmer that we would have liked, but still managed to sleep well there. Its best feature has to be its restaurant. We dined there on 2 nights and each of them were totally outstanding. Pricy by regular standards, but you don't get regular standard service and food. Great value for a Michelin Star which it was. It was terrific. We had the best white wine we ever had, that was produced on location there. If you want to just get away from it all, and have time for yourself, or as a couple, go, you will not regret it. If you get tired of the hotel, take a wander outside the gate and you will find a little local bar where you can get a glass of wine for fifty cents.
We did not get to see the cheese or wine making as its closed at weekends. So we made up for it by sampling generously.
