Great location But…

The location is really great, and the price is okay. However, the alarm went off in the middle of the night, and there were no staff members to guide us. Many guests went downstairs, but we didn’t see any staff around. In the end, we had to take the initiative to find someone and ask if it was safe. Only after confirming the situation did we return to our rooms. Throughout the entire process, and even until check-out the next day, we never received any apology or compensation.

Check in and check out were convenient and fast. Hotel staff were friendly and secured storage in lobby for luggage. Hotel location is very great, plenty of restaurants and nearby train station.

This hotel has an excellent location- 5 mins.walking distance to central train station(plus L1 light rail station) and 2 mins.walking to L2,L3 light rail station. I was able to take light rail from Circular Quay to the hotel. I also take a train to International airport. A lots of restaurants around China Town (walking dist.) Very convenient ! Highly recommended ! It is an old building but it is clean , quiet .

Great location

Brilliant location which provided way walking for access to all visitor attractions. The food was very good and staff very helpful. The room was a little tired and could benefit from a refresh. Our last nights stay was disrupted badly from 3 rowdy guests in the next room, we had an early start for the airport with very little sleep. Overall it did not spoil our trip to Sydney

Iconic Sydney Great Southern Hotel

Great stately hotel built in 1850's a stone throw from Central Railway Station which we wanted, renovated in 1930's featuring interwar architecture. Appears constantly updated as our room and the hotel features showed. Sparkling clean large size rooms very well maintained. Don't expect a 5 star faculties such as the bathroom equipped with shower only withs mall raped bars of soap small bottle of shampoo and conditioning, then again you are not paying a 4 star price. Breakfast a choice of substantial continental breakfast at $9.00 of a full "Australian" style at $19.00. Appears to appeal Australian and New Zealand groups. Well price "pub Style" meals. If that's not to your taste the hotel is surrounded with an array of restaurants as its right next to "Chinatown", Bar prices are goo value. Would stay their again in a heartbeat.

Convenient, clean and pleasant stay near Central

Super convenient to Central and Light Rail for a weekend stay, really good value for Sydney CBD. Staff was lovely and helpful. Room and bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast buffet was a nice option.
