We booked the jacuzzi suite and we turned on the hot tub let it heat up and all of a sudden a black film went all around the tub. Never even got in it! Very disappointed that we paid for a jacuzzi room and couldn’t use it.

Dirty and depressing
Based on the photos, you would never be able to tell how dirty this place is nor how depressing it is. The first tale of trouble is the "code of conduct" that guests are required to sign at check in. Next is the lack of any decor on walls or in the rooms. Finally, I was certain they were not cleaning my room so I marked my floor with baby powder and a little lipstick on the sheet- not surprised, the baby powder was still on the floor on the other side of the bed every day and my sheets were never cleaned, also found the same with the towels. The Breadfast was the same stale bread all week and watered down juice. I accidently spilled water on the floor and when I went to wipe it up, the semi white towel they provide was completely black. No amenities in room. Remote and TV did not work and fire alarm kept going off. Also, not sure if they let homeless in the lobby or if people live there full time. Many rooms were proped open and often staff were not able to communicate with guests. Finally, no hair dryer in room, mini fridge would not be worth keeping rat food in and the bathroom had clumps of hair imbedded in the baseboards from not being cleaned in so long. Staff are not friendly either. Every time the fire alarms went off, there was literally no messaging to guests. If you took it upon yourself to walk down the stairs and out of the building, you would see staff who would just act as if you did not exist. I have told everyone at my company NEVER stay here.

Pros: I reserved this hotel on the app and thought the price was fair. I stayed during Labor Day weekend and wanted to travel to Chicago and visit the navy pier. The commute was about 15-20 min (maybe more or less) The cleaning ladies were all very nice and checked in with us to make sure we had towels or needed room service. Cons: The hotel felt outdated. Breakfast was free which is always good but the dining area was small and messy. My room was next to a stairway which had a heavy door that made a lot of noise when people were coming in and out. Bathroom shower curtain rod was loose which kept the curtain opening. The vent for the bathroom was also dirty and didn’t turn on.

Ok not great
The building and rooms were in rough shape. It was an old hotel that they tried to make look better by repainting the walls and by putting new flooring where the carpet was. Bathroom had old tile with dirty grout. The shower curtain bar was coming out of the wall not allowing the curtain to stay closed. The towel rack and lotion dispenser were also pulling out of the wall. The sheets and room did seem to be clean despite the condition of the building and furniture. The pool was okay. Water was cold and cloudy, but smelled treated. The side walls were green with algae. Breakfast was very basic. There was toast, 1 cereal choice, and waffles. No fresh fruit. Staff was nice and accommodating.

Absolutely nothing like the pictures. The beds are super small. The room was filthy. The floors were disgusting. I didn’t even take a chance swimming in the pool. Overall, my young family and I were super disappointed. We definitely would not recommend this property to young families.
