I stayed at Cento by Westside Hotel in Istanbul for 4 nights, and it was a complete nightmare. First of all, the hotel itself is dirty and poorly maintained. The room I stayed in had stains all over—on the carpet, the furniture, even the walls. It was clear they don’t prioritize cleanliness. To top it off, you have to pay extra just to use the pool, which is ridiculous.
On the last day, something even worse happened. Around 12 PM, I put my passports and $2300 in cash into the safe box before heading out for lunch. I entered my code and left the room, confident my belongings were secure. When I came back around 4 PM to pack for my early flight the next day, I tried to open the safe, but my code was suddenly not working—it kept giving an error.
I contacted the front desk, and they sent a technician to open the safe. Once they left, I checked inside only to realize my $2300 was missing! I rushed down to reception to report the theft, but the staff was unbelievably rude and dismissive. When I asked them to check the security cameras to see who entered my room, they refused to show me anything, claiming it was against their "policy." They told me only housekeeping had entered the room and insisted that housekeeping couldn't open the safe without knowing my code. They basically shrugged off the entire situation and did nothing to help.
Not only was I robbed of $2300, but the hotel staff also couldn’t have cared less. The attitude was completely unprofessional, and there was zero
