The cabins are very rustic, as in they are not fully sealed so you will see gaps between the wooden slats and you can see outside a little, which means lots of creepy crawlers coming in. Although this is the case, they do not provide any mosquito nets!!! I was fine with the spiders, the beetles, the flys, the lizards running around my room but was very over the whole thing when a scorpion found its way inside! Cabins need some TLC! Saying that it’s a beautiful site with the river running right next to it. Annoyingly there is no hot water and there is no WiFi in the rooms, you have to go to the main area. Staff were generally friendly, but on multiple occasions I would order a meal and a drin, but they wouldn’t bring the drink and I would ask again, and sometimes they put it down as I’ve ordered another drink, but always got it sorted in the end. I really enjoyed the food there!

Amazing place! Good value of money. Had a great time in the river and restaurant, We didn’t have to leave the place, only to go on the tours with them also!

2/10 Poor

Got my reservation wrong, the room were like an improvise cabin, no insulation, no windows or door screens, no fans, no daily cleaning unless you ask for it every single day, no fresh towels, no laundry service available, obscene recharge when you pay with credit card, parking lote unattended so if you don’t park at front, you will be trapped the entire day, food is expensive and no tasty at all, the bed feels like you were sleeping on a rock, just one power outlet pretty much hanging from the wall, overall a really bad experience, won’t comeback ever and won’t recommend to anybody either

There aren't many options in this remote area of Guatemala. You can only find hostels and this one was the only one with private bathroom, this is why we picked it. I understand it is in the middle of nowhere but the cleaniness of the room was questionable. We had sheets with stains and holes. And the bathroom was really minimalist with heavy smell from the pipes. Even in the middle of nowhere and for a hostel of this type I consider these basic services/facilities to have/do.

Rooms where clean but one the blanket of the three bed had musty smell and the door was missing the handle that you pull to open the door from the inside. to open the door you had to use the tip of your finger to pull the Thumbturn knob. Wife broke a nail trying to open door. FYI: Rooms don’t have mosquito nets

Cold showers and unpleasant noises
It said in the room description there would be a fan but this is a LIE. The showers in the shared bathrooms are COLD. There are not enough shared bathrooms so it is a nightmare in the morning. Each hut has 2 rooms and you can hear every noise from the other room. Our neighbours were making awful noises in the middle of the night so we couldn't sleep.

Relaxing Stay in Lanquin
This property is absolutely beautiful. Right on the river with amazing views. The staff were all very polite and helpful. They arranged a tour of Semuc Champey for us, which was a short truck ride away, as well as a shuttle to return to Antigua. We stayed for 3 nights and ate all of our meals at the hostel. They had a fairly broad menu (though not many vegan options) and everything was prepared well.

Great location, close to Lanquin, comfortable rooms and near the River. A clean swimming pool and the friendliest staff. Good for families with small children and walking distance to the caves and the town nearby. Bring cash. They accept cc but with an 8% extra charge.

This place looks duplicate to another place, we went to the wrong hotel becuase of this! Had to cancel, took such a long time, but Hotels.com service person was very patient and nice and eventually handled it.

Nice staff, but overpriced for what it is
The hotel is pretty hard to access if on your own vehicle (in particular motorcycle), and the road getting there is pretty bad. The hotel itself looks nice, made of several cabins, and there's also a open roofed place for meals and to meet other guests. The cabins themselves are small, and not really thermally insulated, so get ready for some cold temperatures at night when you visit the washrooms. Furnishing is basic. Staff is pretty welcoming and helpful, but we regretted not getting our usual 2 water bottles the second day when we renewed for one more night...
