Expedia does not guarantee your reservation
I made a reservation for 2 nights. My checkin process and first night were ok. The following day and while I was out in town. My belongings were taken out of the room without obtaining my permission and placed at the lobby. At my return to the hotel around 11 pm, I was informed that there was a mix up with my reservation and that they had to give my room to another guest. As a remediation, I was informed of a room available at another hotel located miles away my initially reserved room. We arrived to the other location after midnight and most of yhe night time locating our items, including our passports that were packed in different bags. We contacted hotels.com/expedia and the response was disappointing, if nor disrespectful. They have endorsed in part the responsibility of the let down and offered few dollars as a compensation that we have refused to accept. It was a horrible experience.
