We recommend!
We got a nice upgrade to a family suite that was very comfortable. The WiFi worked well on the 3rd floor; he had installed a repeater. There was TV, but we didn’t speak Italian so we didn’t watch. The bathroom was a little small, but at least it was an ensuite. It was an easy walk to the vaporetto stop on the north as well as the south side of Venice. Nicola was very friendly and helpful and available whenever we needed him. It is a very nice property. Venice is a city of lots of walking!

Small, cozy hotel
This place was amazing. Nicola is most helpful. He recommends very traditional Venetian restaurants where you even get a discount or free drink if you mention his name.

Five star service
Lovely b&b. True Venice. We were seriously delayed at our end. Kept in contact with Nicola. Who, although we were very late still met us at the vaporetto. We plan on returning to Venice and Oceano will be our first choice every time.

Lovely property in a quiet but very convenient and accessible part of the city. The proprietor,Nicola, is wonderful and makes every effort to insure that you you enjoy your stay. If you have trouble negotiating stairs then request the first floor and not the second.

Quiet location yet close to the sights.
Great stay at Oceano Mare, Nicola always available via Whatsapp with advice or to help if lost. Location is good in a quiet area yet still close to both the Grand canal and Piazza San Marco. Also short walk to reach Vaparetto for the outer islands.

Great experience in Venice
Oceano Mare won't be the most luxurious place you'll ever stay in, but wonderful memories of it should linger. It's real Venice - slightly away from most tourist crowds. Most people who live in this neighborhood live there all year. The most memorable part of the experience is Nicola who takes care of the place. Full of information, quirky, generous and thoroughly enjoyable. He is full of suggestions and really wants you to have a good time in Venice.

Really nice BnB, quiet, good food, awesome host
We absolutely loved our experience at Oceano Mare. Nico was an excellent host, making sure we didn't get lost on our way to the BnB and available at all times via text messages or email. It is the perfect place to visit Venice, in a quiet area. Nico always makes sure he provides fresh fruits and various sweet and savoury food to enjoy in the morning. We already recommended the BnB to friends and would definitely go back! The view from our room ("the Family room") was so nice. We also loved to pet Nico's dog when he visited! Thanks Nico!

Perfection
Absolutely perfect. Nicola was fantastic host from first booking to our departure he gave great instructions and made our journey from the airport to the apartments seamless. He met us at the Arsenale stop and even carried our luggage which was very sweet whilst giving us lots of helpful and interesting information about Castello, Venice and even a little about himself. Such a warm and friendly person thank you for your hospitality. Castello is a fantastic area with lots of great restaurants and bars. We prefer to avoid the main tourist spots try the gin bar close by you will see lots of bow ties hanging from the wall and outside a picture of the owner on Masterchef. Friendly staff, great music and fantastic selection of gin. The spaghetteria is really great too they make all their pasta fresh on site and it's delicious. Also head to the Jewish Quarter for great bars and chicetti - vino very do the best meatballs. The apartments were spotlessly clean and spacious and there was plenty selection at breakfast. Hot showers comfortable bed and a peaceful sleep. Still very close to all the main attractions but quiet at night for a good rest. Perfect can't recommend Oceana Mare enough. It was a pleasure :)

Good
Nicola was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was nice, and roomy. The facilities were great with a 24hr coffee and hot chocolate machine. The breakfast had some really nice elements including very fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, cheese, and cakes. Unfortunately, the towels were smelly and had hairs and stains on them, even the new/different ones we requested. I would recommend the hotel get all new towels. Overall still a great place to stay!

Updated B&B
Had a lovely stay with a room that accomodated me and my 2 adult kids. we had a private bathroom, TV, a/c and wonderful breakfast spend every morning. The owner Nicoli was the best and provided the best service. He met us at the ferry and carried my luggage to the house. This is a must stay location.

It is actually not a Hotel, but a bed & breakfast.
It is located in the very old part of Venice with crooked narrow streets so it is challenging to get back to the hotel. The area is safe and very picturesque. It gives you a feeling living in the Middle Ages. Breakfast is light and modest, more on the sweet side. The machine gives you a great selection of beverages and it is unlimited and you can have access to it later in the day too. It is a very short walk to a Vaporetto station what is the main mean of transportation in Venice. I would recommend to buy a multiday pass, it will save you a lot of money.

Excellect choice
I've enjoyed our trip to Venice and the hotel was an excellent choice. Its location just right, only 10-15 min walk to San Marco square. The area is very quite and peaceful. The room and bathroom is very clean and of a good size and air conditioned. The breakfast was good and fresh.

Brilliant location, service and great rooms.
This B&B is a great find. The location is brilliant, a short walk to Piazza San Marco and yet just back enough from the main streets to get you away from the large tourist groups and tourist prices at restaurants and bars. Rooms are generous for Europe and have all that you could require including a few extras such as fridge, wardrobe and hairdryer. The closest ferry stop of Arsenale is perfect for access from the train/bus station and is also a stop for the airport ferry and for the Number 1 ferry that travels up the Grand Canal. Nicola is a wonderful host that will contact you before you arrive to arrange to collect you at the ferry and he is helpful in any way you require during your stay. Head to gates of Arsenal for your morning coffee and continue on to Via Garibaldi in the evening for more local style restaurants - especially El Refolo and those nearby.

Great find! Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was actually better then expected and the room was spacious with two bedrooms off of one bathroom. Breakfast was a selection of fruits, bread, spreads, cheese, yoghurt, corn flakes and delicious cakes. Coffee machine, water and juice also. Everything was perfect and we were really glad we picked this place.

Great Value
Great stay, and great value. It's a bit off the main drag or anything of interest but you save a lot. About a 15-20 min walk to the Rialto Bridge. Nicoli was very helpful and nice. Overall I was definitly satisfied.

A True Authentic Venetian GEM!!
Away from the tourist crowds but close enough to be in the thick of things with a quick walk, the Oceano Mare is in the perfect location for getting a feel for the local experience of the city. The owner went above and beyond by both picking us up from the Vaporetto, showing us how to get around, carrying our bags, and generally being incredibly friendly. We felt like we were staying at our Italian friends' house and could not have felt any more comfortable or welcome! The owner showed us some local spots to eat and even walked me to a local shop where the sunscreen cost 1/2 as much as in the tourist areas. The 3 of us stayed in the second floor suite which was the perfect size for all of us and our things. The cost was extremely reasonable, especially for Venice at high tourist season, and our only complaint was that the hairdryer provided was not exactly great. The air-conditioning was both extremely necessary the weekend we were there and soo much appreciated after a long hot day walking around outside in the city. We all three would highly recommend the Oceano Mare as a place to stay, and will most assuredly book a room there again when we return!
