Thoroighly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Hotel was clean, staff very friendly. Decent selection at breakfast including cooked menu options. Room was a one bedroom with sofabed and a good size. Only downside was when the sofabed was opened during the night, it was a bit of a squeeze to walk past it to the bathroom. Hotel centrally located with large selection of restaurants and bars nearby. Most attractions also within walkable distance. Would definitely recommend as it was not overly expensive and represented good value for money.

Great trip
Excellent room, with all the conforts. On the third night we felt a strange smell; we report it. They sent a team and tried to solve it. Upon returning from the flamenco show, the problem persisted. We moved out the room to a superior suite. They changed the experience completely. The next day the hotel invited all of us (4) to a delicious breakfast. Excellent. Hospitality!. This is my sixth visit to madrid. I had never stayed at this hotel. We will return for sure!

A very pleasant stay
Great location and good for family. We were very close to a lot restaurants, bars and tourist sights. The pool was a little bit small according to my two children and it was a little bit noisy within the accommodation as I can hear running water from upstairs and other guests walking through the corridors and catching the lifts. It was generally clean and comfortable.

This is an amazing hotel, very stylish and our apartment was spacious and well designed. The location is phenomenal and we even had a small balcony right over Gran Via. We did not receive the complementary wine bottle or upgrade and parking is complicated.

Hotel was in very central amazing location. Rooms were with very nice modern design but very small and tight for a family without really a place to put luggage once sofa bed was open. Staff was extremely friendly and professional and willing to help. AC worked well. Pool very small without much seating for a hotel of this size (maybe 10 chairs total surrounding pool). Good coffee bar attached to lobby. Room had a couple of areas that could use maintenance (like the drain in the shower was detached and the top of the handheld shower head was missing). Would stay here again though for sure.

The good: Location and clean. The bad: 1. Wifi sucks. No wifi signal inside room. We complained the next morning and nothing was ever done. You couldn't connect as the signal was so week. We got the employees wifi and the same. We stayed in room 210 - Do not get this room! 2. The USB plugs to charge tour electronics do not work. 3. They cleaned the room and "forgot" to leave clean towels. 4. They cleaned the room and did not bother to check the shampoo and conditioner bottles. We had to remind to refill them. 5. The TV in the bedroom did not work, did not get any wifi or internet signal. We complained but nothing was done. 6. We will never stat here next time. 2.

This is a nice hotel right on the Gran Via in Madrid. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking. The Metro is like a 2 minute walk. The room was not big, but it had a lot of useful stuff, including a a small range, washer/dryer (dryers are not common in spain. most folks hang their laundry), nice size fridge/freezer...even a little dishwasher. If you were to be in Madrid for a week, this would be a nice home base. Only complaint...the shower did not drain. Water was flowing into our room. And staff was like...sorry...its' Sunday...there's nothing we can do. So watch out for that.

Prime location, good looks, and TERRIBLE SERVICE!
SmartRental Collection Gran Via Capital was a BIG disappointment! With its prime location on the Gran Via, its fabulous appearance and its rooftop pool/bar, you might be fooled into believing that you've arrived somewhere enjoyable... After traveling around Spain for a couple of weeks staying in marvelous places with excellent service, this was by far the worst experience we had... The reception's greeting was cold and distant... The rooftop pool's bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays... Getting room service or the restaurant downstairs to send some food and drink to the rooftop proved impossible... After repeated attempts, we couldn't get a straight answer... Eventually, we gave up and left the property to spend our money and time elsewhere... It was clear to us that this is the type of place that rests on its prime location and good looks, never needing to provide the quality of service you might expect... In a beautiful country with people as warm and friendly as Spain, in a city as sophisticated as Madrid, it would be in your best interest to stay somewhere else.
