Not the worst not the best

Hotel Milo is very nice from the outside and we loved that it was super close to restaurants. However, we give this place a 3 star rating overall because of some inconveniences. The room my mother in law stayed at was in the 1st building room 100 something and I think that side of rooms are not modern at all. The room had a musky smell, the water pressure in the shower was very low and the water had a funky smell. My mother in law had to suck it up for 2 nights. The room my husband and I got was building 5 or 6 I don’t remember but it was 216 and it was much nicer than my mother in laws, but on Saturday morning there was heavy rain and we got a leak in the bathroom so we had to be moved to another room. Room 237 and that was nicer than where we were before. Much smaller but much nicer. I’m guessing all buildings are different. Some are not so upgraded and some are. The noise from the streets was a bit bothersome. Not sure if we’ll book here again. We usually stay at Hilton down the street but unfortunately they were fully booked. I think for the price they charge all rooms should at least be upgraded.

An upmarket motel

We were only here for one night as part of a road trip. We were initially looking to extend our stay by a further two nights as when we arrived the service (valet and reception staff), facilities (gym and pool area) and location on the beach front were ideal. When I asked about extending, I was informed it’d be €735 dollars despite being able to get it for c$500 through hotels.com - odd! As we were there for only one night, decided getting a bigger place as the room was quite snug and I could only feel that we were out in the worst possible room. There was an ice machine outside our door which may as well have been in our room it was so loud. Then the cleaners and staff cupboard was directly next to our room so as they started their shift, we were awake! Not the one, sadly!

Know before you go!

We were staying there for a wedding for three nights. The first night we did not have hot water, which took maintenance two hours to respond and we missed our dinner. The road noise that night was unbelievably loud, the next day we asked to be moved. They didn’t have anything to move us to. We checked out and they charged us for our one night stay. They did not offer any type of refund or credit.

Pricey for quality

We have stayed here before, and it was a plesant experience. However, this time was not as good, so we will choose elsewhere feom the large number of places to stay in SB. At check-in time, there was only 1 front desk attendant, who was absent for at least 5 minutes while I waited. The whole process took 15 minutes, but most of that was wait time. The room was in a part of the complex we hadn't been in before. The acoustics were terrible, and we had constant noise of families walking up and down our hallway until we left for dinner. I fell asleep to noise that sounded like a circus next door. I can only imagine how it sounded to the peoe underneath them. I have no idea how the banging noises were created, but we heard them constantly. We did have a lovely ocean view feom our window, but the room was so small that there wasn't room for a chair and small table to sit at and enjoy it. Valet service was very effiecient, but we paid $400 for this room, and then $35 for parking. Next time I will stay at one of the motor lodges up the street, who don't charge for parking and include breakfast with the room. This place was basically a motor lodge in quality, except for the L'Occitaine toiletries. Its not worth the extra $100 for them.

I’ve wanted to stay here for years. On my college senior’s last spring break my husband surprised us with an extra day. Room seemed ok, we went out to dinner. Upon returning, the neighbors above and next to us partied until around 5-6 am. That’s when we heard the loud barfing, bathroom experiences and yelling. Then our toilet began gurgling and exploding feces. We could not use it or the water or shower. House keeping came at 8 am with a do not disturb on our door. We were exhausted and sent them away. Noticed a man in rubber gloves in the room next to us when leaving. Had to use the lobby bathroom to wash our faces and use the bathroom. Was told nothing could be done since it was through a third party booking. After a whole day of no sleep and feeling disgusting the front desk comped us a sweatshirt and a towel with their branding. Will never wear it. Don’t stay here and never use hotels.com. 374.00 was definitely not worth it. Book through the hotel or in this case…don’t! Horrible ending to trying to spend an extra day. Worst hotel I’ve been to and I’m 50.

Skip Chad's. Go to Jeanine's

The hotel, overall, was wonderful. The location was perfect , the staff was friendly, and the facility was clean. The one negative was the on location restaurant, Chads. We used to go there when it was Sambos and we loved it. When we went to Chad's, the serving staff was so unattentive. We were skipped over several times, so that the staff could help other folks who arrived later. The person next to me was complaining about the quality of his breakfast and the rest of the folks didn't have food and looked like they had been waiting for a while. The only good thing about it, was that it forced us to walk a couple of blocks to Jeanine's, a wonderful breakfast spot.

one night visit

We have always loved This property throughout all the changes of ownership, We stayed one night (a Monday) on our way to see our daughter. Our room was on the first floor behind a bush with a view of nothing. That actually would have been fine as we love to walk and get outside, but the reality is that I am paying the same amount as second story with a view of possibly the ocean or even a parking lot. We will not stay here again. The amount of money for that room on a Monday was not in line with my expectations. We will focus on a new city with so much to offer.
