Great find
Amazing accommodations…spacious rooms, and wonderful patio area next to vineyard. And bungy jumping is just down the road a bit! A great splurge for us.

Gibbston Valley Lodge & Spa was without a doubt the best lodging experience that we had on our trip. The property is beautiful. The restaurants were delicious. The staff were delightful. We had been on the road for a few days, and the lodge was the perfect place for us to relax and recharge for the rest of our trip. We took a chance to use the hot pools and sauna which were convenient to schedule and private. We also enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting which provided great wine and a nice opportunity to meet some of the other guests at the lodge.
If we find ourselves back on the South Island, we will be back to Gibbston Valley Lodge & Spa.

Amazing getaway
We had a fantastic stay at Gibbston Valley Lodge & Spa. This was definitely one of the best places that we have stayed at around the world.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, tending to our queries and requests. We would like to specifically thank Junio for his warmth and helpfulness.
The villas are spacious, clean and with all amenities you would need. There is a lovely patio/garden area overlooking some vineyards which is a lovely area to relax in. The bathroom is also large and clean, with a bathtub with spa functions.
The food at the restaurant was delicious - we had two dinners and one breakfast there and were given extremely friendly service and top notch food, showcasing local produce.
The outdoor hot tub and sauna are also very nice to relax in, with a beautiful view of the valley.

8/10 Very Good
Feb 9, 2024
Staff and service first rate. Rooms spacious but felt a little corporate and we were on vacation. Can imagine hotel is best suited for business meetings or retreats. Access to the vineyard and winery is nice but otherwise facilities are minimal. (Didn’t use spa, which is highly rated.). Location right next to highway is convenient but results in highway noise at times. Restaurant was quite good, especially the specially-requested salad as a first course.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. We stayed for 7 nights and it was amazing. The lodges are beautiful and maintained to the highest standards. Facilities are awesome, restaurant is awesome, staff are awesome and willing to help with literally anything. I asked if they were able to organise some flowers for my wife as we were on our honeymoon and they went above and beyond. Can't express how nice the place is, the cellar door and cheesery is also fantastic. Bike hire on site was also a massive tick of approval. 11/10, would stay ten times over.
