My wife and I stayed in Bridge Cottage for one night with our son. This is not an inexpensive B&B located in a secluded lane. We had a warm welcome from the owner who had been very accommodating of our late arrival.
Inside, we were ordered to remove our shoes. With warning we would have brought slippers with us to be more comfortable. It would be worth noting that there are two lovely dogs on the property and evidence of these was found in the bedroom – those with an allergy to dogs or dust should be aware. The ensuite was clean with an excellent shower. As was noted in a review elsewhere, the ensuite in this room doesn't have any curtains or blinds. I therefore made a makeshift blind from a travel-cot mattress found in a cupboard.
The property’s walls are decorated with works of art – parents might like to be aware that some of these might be considered too explicit for younger children.
The cooked breakfast was excellent and our request for alternative milk for my wife was catered for. Unfortunately, during breakfast, someone entered our room without asking (none of the rooms or bathrooms has locks). Our son's bed, and my improvised window covering, were removed – leaving the toilet area exposed to the clear window. Maybe my attempt to provide privacy was not appreciated as, unlike our arrival, our departure did not involve the presence of our host.
I am an experienced traveller. Whilst I don't like to be negative, it's important to give an honest review.
