Nice restaurants, jumbo is good value for snacks and grocery type shopping, train into city centre is fast enough and regular. Superfly is a nice wee coffeeshop if that's what you're visiting for- good value. Prepare for rain & watch out for vehicles

I lived in Hoofddorp a few years ago. So I know this place well, a quiet, safe residential area away from the hustle and bustle of the Amsterdam centrum. Of course the location is very close to the airport and other town as well.

The station area is a way out of the town and it's very quiet and calm with not much open, but handy for trains and the airport.

Fantastic transport links to Amsterdam and tbd airport !! While we didn't have the time to go to the town centre we knew there were facilities like shops if we needed them.

Very nice little city but the walk to and from town to the hotel for elderly people is not recommended. Too far to go
"Park Plaza Victoria is a beautiful hotel, conveniently located across the road from centraal train station. Tip, walk outside the station, turn left and walk through the underpass, then you'll see the hotel across the road. Rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable beds and warm showers. Vic's bar is lovely and chilled, with nice cocktails and some yummy bar snacks. The burger was really tasty! The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. A wonderful stay, we'll be back! 😁"
"Such a great hotel. Clean, modern, spacious. Snack bar 24/7. Best breakfast! We had a room on the 17th floor and had big windows. Was pretty far from the center and the metro across the street wasn’t operating so we needed to take a car about 15 minutes into town each day. Nothing outside the hotel to do so had to travel. Was a great place to come back to though!"
"very convenient to airport and train station. rooms quite good, though very modern and small compact, from to bed shower to toilet, literally. definitely not for a family with kids, at least the room I had. A couple ok, but not my wife’s cup of tea. but very quiet as the airport is right there out the window. Bed very comfy. Took a while to figure out the Apple control pad!!! But for the convenience to public transport and the price well worth it. definitely would stay again when going solo!!"
