We have family in Poole and it was nice to be able to be close to them. Poole park is the perfect place for the entire family and the selection of restaurants and pubs at the Quay is perfect.

The trip to Brownsea Island is well worthwhile - although it had plenty of spaces, the Poole Quay car park only took coins with no provision on the machine for payment by card or app.

Quite a small town that closes fairly early most days compared with a large town or city.

Take M1 bus opposite side of A35 Ashley Cross to town centre/bus station, right inside the Dolphin Centre. The quay is 15 to 20 minute walk but you can kump on the number one bus, which is regular and stops on the Quay (10 minutes).

"The Anchorage is a great place to stay. It's a few steps away from the quayside and is well served by restaurants and pubs. Our room, Rm4, was extremely clean and well equipped with a fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, hair dryer, soft towels and quality bed linen. We will definitely rebook if we come to Poole again."
"I had a very pleasant stay at Quayside Quarters. It’s in a quiet street just off the quay in Poole. My room was clean and comfortable and the owners made sure I got in OK and allowed me to leave my bag in the building for a couple of hours after I vacated the room. I would certainly like to stay again when next I need accommodation in Poole."
