Went to Tamarack Marketplace on our way out of town & had a marvelous experience there. Looking forward to going there again next time we travel through the area. Beckley is halfway point on our way down to SC & on our return home from NC.

We enjoyed local attractions Exhibition Coal Mine and Tamarack Marketplace. I would recommend planning about an hour for the Marketplace and 2 hours for the Coal Mine. We had a great dinner at Compostre (Mexican cuisine).

Fairly large city with plenty of shopping when needed and a variety of restaurants. We spent the days in the national park and had fairly easy access.

The city and the people we encountered were very nice. We had a great dinner at Outback. We were on the road at 10:30 and even the folks at the gas station were friendly.

Beckley is nice quite town close to New River gorge national park. There are lots of activities in summer but we went in winter.

Visit Grandview in the National Park. Check out the jerky store near the hotel. Hilltop cafe has excellent coffees.
