The Maritime Museum is the best thing to visit in Erie, even though the brig Niagara was closed for the season. Highly recommended. The Zoo was a disappointment. Half of the exhibits were empty or closed. The Hagan history center was so-so.

"I was there for a quick overnight stay on my way back to Illinois from NY. I checked in a little after midnight, and the front desk employee was friendly and efficient in getting me checked in. My only suggestion…assign rooms to women traveling alone on a higher floor. It’s really uncomfortable to be at street level with windows with no opaque curtain blocking the view. "
