Ideal to explore Blackpool - without the noise!
Travelling with our dog. He wasn't allowed in the dining area for breakfast, but our hosts set a table up in the lounge space for us. Our room was at the front with a view of the beach and was a good size. Overall, a lovely place to stay. 15 minute drive into Blackpool.

2 night stay
Room quite dated, could have been cleaner dust in wardrobe ? Lady owner pleasant and friendly, unfortunately not the case when the co owner on day of departure knocked at 10am and informed us we should vacate room ,his words soon as!!,very rude! did not do breakfast so cant comment . Would we stay again ?probably not .

Perfect for all our needs
Lovely place for a short break. Dougie was welcoming and everything explained clearly. We upgraded to cooked breakfast and glad we did as it was fab. We met Diane the following morning at breakfast and both mornings we had great chats as are also true northerners. We took our puppy and they had water, biscuits available complimentary and also toys that could be purchased through the honesty box. The lounge had a fridge where you could get both soft and alcoholic beverages and payment for these was again via the honesty box. The building is not new and could be classed as dated, however that doesn’t detract from the great room (size, provisions, comfort etc) My partner sometimes goes away on her own and she said she’d feel safe staying here on her own. Dougie, Diane thanks both once again - hope to be back soon

Perfectly Adequate
Arrived to be told that I had booked a double room when I'd actually booked a double with a single. Minor issue but it was sorted with additional bedding. Room was fine, access to a fridge though it was noisy once turned on so we didn't use it, also access to a microwave but we didn't use it. Shower quite small but water was hot. Continental breakfast included which had good choices. Hot breakfast was available but again we didn't access this. Parking was on the road but it was free and was a safe area. Guest house is very close to the seafront and about a 15min walk from the town centre. It was perfectly adequate for our stay.

A Little Gem
I stayed at the Cumbria Hotel for 4 nights with my 2 small dogs. This is the first time I have stayed anywhere by myself and was very nervous about doing so. What a lovely homely friendly little guest house this is. Both myself and my dogs were made very welcome, the single room was great with single bed, en-suite, tv, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities. I Had 4 great nights here, I slept really well, the bed was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel is close to the beach, the island cinema, swimming pool, shops and plenty of places to eat. Both Doug and Dianne are very welcoming (despite me calling Doug, Greg all week) they were both happy to help with anything and provide an excellent continental breakfast all in with the price. My only little issue was the toilet was loose and on the first night I nearly fell off it as it was a bit wobbly. I mentioned it to Greg (Doug)the morning after and he explained they were waiting for the plumber to come back and secure it to the floor but to do this the floor needed to be taken up and extra blocks put under the floor to stop the screws coming out. This is the only reason I couldn’t give 5 out of 5. I will definitely be coming back to this little Gem in St Annes, hopefully a few times a year now I have found it.
