My husband and I (late 30s Canadians) stayed here for 9 nights on vacation around new year and we had an absolutely amazing time. Casa de la Ballena is like a perfect little oasis in the middle of a bustling town full of construction, and is only a 5 minute walk to the town centre or the beach. We were in room #1, and it was clean and spacious, with a king size bed, kitchenette and large refrigerator, AC, a safe, nice space to hang clothing, and a TV. The common space is quiet and relaxing and there is soft music playing all day, Our stay included breakfast every morning, fresh fruit and yogurt and coffee as well as cooked to order hot dishes. The staff was wonderful and the host, Martin, was simply lovely (and his english was excellent). An amazing feature they offer is that they have a filtration system for the water in the entire facility, so you can drink safely from the taps and avoid constantly buying bottles (basically unheard of around there). I highly recommend this spot for a safe, secure, relaxing stay while you're in Sayulita!

The owners were very sweet and accommodating. The property is very close to the beach and town, but calm and right off the main square, so its quiet. They have a great playllist that plays during the day at the pool, which was awesome. They have two very sweet dogs, Maya and Layka (a lab and a pug puppy) on the property that made our stay so fun! :) The only feedback was that the hot tub was not working and they said they didn't expect to have it fixed during our stay. Would have been much welcomed to have that amenity.

Beautiful place. Rooms are awesome. Nice quiet spot just a quick walk to the plaza and beach. No signage so wasn’t sure where to get in. Look for the call box and push the button to get in for check-in.

Small hotel with modern style, spacious room, kitchen appliances, good shower. Nice pool area with chairs and pleasant breakfast area. Good wifi, nice staff, breakfast was simple but enough food.

The property is beautiful, and clean. The staff were superb, extremely friendly, very accommodating, especially Marten the hotel manager. The hotel location was very close to the town, its located in a quite and serene area. There is a breakfast included which was decent. The hotel wifi lagged a lot and for the remaining 2 nights of my stay it did not work and barely worked in the main lobby area. The pool only gets about 2-3 hours of direct sunlight a day in the afternoon. The gym is extremely small, about the size of a den in a condo.
