Nice but not like a hotel room
Arrived to a sign in reception saying it is not manned and to ring the bell. Someone came after a short wait and booked me in. I paid extra for breakfast and was told my room was upstairs with key in the door.
2 flights of stairs and the room was clean and tidy. More like an apartment than a bedroom with kitchen and dining table.
Nothing to allow you to have a hot drink such as milk or tea/coffee even though there is a fridge and kettle. So after a long trip arriving at the venue you would need to go shopping to get something. Could not find a bath towel although there were a few small hand towels. The electrics on the wall were a mystery to me as there were many switches that seemed to do nothing. Couldnt warm the room up as didnt know how heating worked and lights went off after arcing sound behind the switch.
This is a super property in a lovely area and plentiful safe parking. Breakfast was good as a continental style and staff I met were helpful.
For me to be really impressed it would have been nice for reception to show me the room and explain all controls and where things are as I had to go hunting in cupboards. Supplying some tea and coffee sachets with a bit of milk would have been appreciated.
The impression is that this is not designed for people staying 1 night. More like air bnb were you bring your own food and drink as they have a fully fitted kitchen in the room.
As I had driven 8hrs to get there, I needed some refreshments and it was late
