The hotel does not air condition the rooms before you get there, so if you coming in hot months, make plans to check in, turn ac on, then leave for an hour before you can relax in your room.
When I asked the receptionist why air conditioning wasn't already on, her response was the hotel doesn't know what to set the air to--as if setting it to match the outside hot temperature would be preferable to customers and I, the odd one for asking. Didn't I know? My punishment was not an upgrade for pointing out the air conditioner didn't work in my room, but rather I deserved to be put in a room with an obstructed window view even though I paid to not have this--and not my fault the air conditioner didn't work.
