Our stay at The Lensbury Resort Hotel had a mix of positives and areas for improvement.
Check-in was a bit disappointing. Although we arrived slightly early and understood our room might not be ready, we still had to wait until 3:20pm to access it—even after queuing again at 3pm. Unfortunately, there was no apology or communication about the delay, which felt impersonal.
That said, the outdoor seating area where we waited was lovely, and the overall dining experience was excellent. The evening dinner menu offered a great selection, and the breakfast buffet was varied and enjoyable. All dining staff were polite and friendly, contributing positively to our stay.
We stayed in a part of the hotel that is detached from the main building. This section felt a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The room itself was basic but adequate. However, the bathroom cleanliness was below expectations—there was even a used bar of soap left in the corner.
On a more positive note, the leisure facilities were impressive. The sauna and steam room were very good, the changing rooms were spacious and clean, and the gym was excellent.
Overall, while there are clear strengths in dining and wellness amenities, some aspects of the accommodation and guest service could be improved to enhance the overall guest experience.
