Casa do Contador had character, beauty, AND comfort. The breakfast especially was a fantastic experience, delivered to our room each day in a traditional wicker basket. We've never experienced anything like it! The staff were friendly and helpful, and recommended a really great tour to the east of San Miguel Island. The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette had everything we needed ... No notes! We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

This hotel was incredible. The room was spacious, the beds were really comfortable, the staff were so friendly, the grounds were beautiful & relaxing and the breakfast was wonderful.

Cozy hotel. Our room smelled a little musty and walls were thin could hear everything upstairs even other guests were moving furniture early am and would wake us up. Breakfast basket was cute, but it was the same thing every day. Front desk was welcoming. On our last day there were 2 girls in the back yard courters taking bikini photos with a whole tripod setup, which made it awkward for myself and child to hang out back there.

A nice spot in PDL

The team at the hotel was extremely proactive in their communication (reaching out via WhatsApp 1 week before with entry codes) and very kind during the stay. They are only on aite from 9-5 so that is something people should be aware of. We stayed in the family unit with 2 bedrooms which is a semi-basement so it definitely had a smell of musk but extremely clean. The beds were comfortable. I wish the upstairs room had its own bathroom or even a sink/garbage pail but it was workable for sure. The pool area is very small but well maintained. My main recommendation would be to add a nespresso machine to the units because everyone going outside to the main machine is not very practical in the morning. Great location to walk around!

An amazing place to stay. Right in Ponta Delgada, coukd walk everywhere easily, but also a quiet oasis. The backyard pool and lounge area was so relaxing. The breakfasts were fantastic. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
