Great location and accommodations

Lovely boutique hotel close to everything. It was in excellent shape and has been a hotel since the 1930s. We will definitely stay there again.

Affordable spot to stay when visiting St. Petes

Not a bad place to stay to save money if their sister hotel is booked up. Using the pool, bar and restaurant next door made this a great deal. Bathrooms in the king suites were super tiny with an unnecessarily large walk in closet that could have been used to expand the size of the bathroom. No dish drainer in kitchenette if you use the dishes but all things that are nitpicky for a great experience. Overall great place and we will be back.

Put reachable outlets in the room!

They need to put a reachable outlet close to the bed. There two outlets and they werw under the bed and another behind the dresser. The AC is too noisy. The room need to be aired. It smell humidity. Hangers for towels in the bathroom The rest, is pretty fair...

It almost felt like being home. The hotel is an older building (historic?) on a tree lined residential street. Reminded me ofVery cozy feeling. Friendly staff. Lots of lounging area inside the lobby. Lots of lounging area outside on the porch area. So pleasant to sit outside. The sister hotel nextdoor provided coffee shop, restaurant and bar and pool. Plenty of parking.

Wonderful boutique hotel!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The elevator to our building was out of service and we were unfortunately on the 3rd floor, but the 2 flights of stairs were thankfully short and manageable! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will remember this property if back in the area.

Okay place to stay

It was just an "okay" stay at Avalon. They offered plenty of bottled water which was nice, but it would be more environmentally responsible to provide water for personal water bottles. The shower curtain and rod fell on me while I was taking a shower which was scary. The staff did her best to assist me to get it back up, but it happened in the evening and the maintenance staff left at 5pm so it had to wait until the next day. She offered a breakfast coupon which was a kind gesture. The room had a very dark closet -- no light as far as I could see-- and the AC made a lot of noise which made it tough to sleep. I don't think I'd stay there again, but I did appreciate the TAP ROOM next door (excellent food, service and super convenient) and the pool was also very nice. So, an okay visit.

Boutique hotel ?

Room is too dark only one lampshade and the light from the ceiling fan. Was using my iPhone light to search for stuff ! Bathroom is small. Tall person with average built will have to squeeze themselves in as the toilet is right behind the door. Could up the cleaning factor. Plus is free parking, free water, friendly receptionists and lobby decor.
