Holiday in Castries

Good all inclusive near Castries. Staff are great - very helpful. Good choice of food. Good range of eating options. Entertainment a bit hit and miss - not always geared to the age of the visitors. Need to use the shuttle bus or a taxi to get into Castries.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The food was very good and they had a nice variety. There weren’t many Americans there, which was fine until the very end. One employee made snide comments about our newly elected president and proceeded to tell us we would suffer under his leadership. I went on vacation to escape politics. Not to debate them. It left a bad last impression of an otherwise great vacation.

There were a lot of stairs, especially for seniors. I would have liked a place closer to the beach. The staff were wonderful. There really wasn’t any area to walk around because of the stairs.

My husband and I spent a week at Bel Jou for our honey moon. We both wanted something quiet, but with optional activities to intersperse throughout the day. Everything we read about Bel Jou was the right fit for us and while we love a good band (they had many while we were there), we didn’t want a big night life for this trip. The staff really make it special. Andrea and Princess made us feel welcome every day at meals and by the cabana, Mikey was a great first impression when we arrived, Shanel was our favourite person to see every morning, we often sat in Verkesa’s section at dinner as her service is friendly and delightful, and Jahfree was lovely to run into at the hotel! I am missing so many more but everyone puts in a big effort to make even the rainy days a real pleasure. The drinks (cocktails and mocktails) are fantastic, food always a hit, room is clean and comfortable. The two pools are a great asset and one is always warm from the sun for a swim. Thank you!

All the staff are very pleasant and always going out of their way to help. The communal areas were always clean and being cleaned. Senior staff were attentive and always showing support to their staff. I would recommend this hotel and would surely go back again.

It seems they are upgrading rooms, because all floors were done in our tower except the bottom floor. Also theres a drainage and hot water issue with showers i hope they fix soon. No elevators so be prepared to clumb stairs everywhere. Its not prohibitively difficult, just a minor inconvenience. Top shelf liquor is not included in the all-inclusive. Food was great. Nightly live singers that were excellent. Staff was very accommodating, professional, polite and helpful.

Bad: killed two roaches in my room, hotel gave me a two bed room instead of the king bedroom I booked, food wasn’t seasoned, hotel was not lively and majority of the guests were 65 Good: drinks were good, hotel staff was very friendly and attentive, free hotel shuttle service to beach and town, hotel had activities planned every day

This was avery friendly and casual small resort. The staf were very professional and kind. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely view. Two smaller pools with lounges and umbrellas. Guests who were early risers reserved best location. The buffet was best at breakfast. Wonderful to eat on the large, lovely veranda. Lunch and dinner became a little monotonous, with the same selections. Chaffing dishes had large lids with escaping steam when opened. Care needed not to get burned! The desserts were varied and delicious. Also on site Hummingbird Restaurant was very good. Reservations needed. Some activities planned, music every night 9-11. Much too loud if you are trying to sleep when bands are playing. Very easy to meet other guests and share recommendations for excursions etc. Limited areas to walk within resort and advised not to walk outside alone. Functional gym for personal work outs. My husband and i enjoyed our time here and would recommend Bel Jou for a casual and friendly vacation. We would return another time.

I love this hotel. The views were beautiful and the staff was so amazing and fun. I love how there was entertainment every night. The taxi driver Pico was amazing and made sure we had fun and saw everything on the island. But the food was the best part of this hotel I’ve never been to a hotel where the food was good every night and authentic. Definitely a 10/10 the best hotel. Would definitely go back to visit again.

Too many steps. The staff lacks communication & personalities. 1 fine dining with a menu for 2 days & long wait time for the outside pool food. I would not recommend this resort for anyone under 70 yrs old or if you have a disability.

The female staff are not friendly, as an adult, I don’t know why the pools are only 4 inches, no food after 12am, you have to pay for top shelf alcohol and to go containers, no music. This is not a good resort for party people who visits the island.
