Quaint hotel at a convenient location

Great location, within walking distance to restaurants and bars in La Mariscal. The hotel itself is rather quaint and has a lot of character. I particularly enjoyed the terrace, which was great for hanging out early in the morning before heading out or in the evening when I wanted to relax. They also have an in-house restaurant/bar, which works well for when you don't feel like going out for a bite or a drink. Since it's an older building, sometimes things don't quite work as they intended. But that said, the owner/staff is very quick to address any issues you may have. The owner is very hands-on and attentive, and as a guest, you will feel catered to. Definitely recommended for visitors to Quito, especially if you're looking to stay around La Mariscal.

ArtPlaza is well taken care of by the owner, who has daily, hands-on involvement with your stay and is responsive to any needs. The property is very unique as it has been owned by the owner's family for now four generations. It has very enjoyable feel to it. The owner offered me the two-bed room as pictured (that I paid for) or another at the same price which had less of a a kitchen but was more recently renovated (it seems). I chose the latter. There was staff on site from early morning to nighttime to cook a delicious meal if needed. I had 3-4 breakfasts and 2 dinners. Very tasty. My only concern was that my room was connected to the restaurant and I like to be asleep at 10pm while traveling, but this was not an issue as all was quiet by 10pm. Everything was great at ArtPlaza and, when and if I bring my family to Quito, I will likely stay there again!

Great location, staff and amenities. Although this is a quiet area near the action, I recommend you bring earplugs to sleep at night - there was construction nearby in the middle of the night and Quito has dog barking concerts at night. The earplugs should be part of any traveller kit in Ecuador anyway :). Thanks for a great stay.

Close to everything.

Position is perfect, the people are happy and helpful. Very clean and has an at home feel to it. Has hot showers and comfortable beds. Overall a very nice place to stay.
