Nice one day stay

The ocean plaza was a nice place to stay for my 1 nite there. It was clean and the room was quaint. I could hear people walking up and down the stairs and in the hallway. But overall it was a nice place to stay. The front desk people were very friendly.

Ocean Plaza is a perfect mix of old and new world

Everything about our stay was exceptional! From the friendliness of the staff to the beautifully maintained building. Room was large and well appointed. Breakfast buffet which was served to you was homemade on a porch with an ocean view. Ocean Grove as a township is stately in its Victorian era buildings and felt very safe and comfortable. Ocean Plaza was a nice walk to the action and music of Asbury Park while feeling a world away!

Ocean Plaza seems recently renovated, or at least refreshed. Carpets are clean and do not show significant wear. Our room seemed recently repainted in beachy tones of rose and off-white with tasteful oils and photography. Bathroom was spotless. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, the world's most delicious baked French toast, pancakes and a broad assortment of breads and breakfast cakes. Parking was excellent, but then this was off-season and there is no off-street parking at all in town. That could be a seasonal issue. Room was pretty quiet, though the inn was not at full capacity and sounds did travel, as one might expect in an older, residential building. We loved it and found it to be a fine value. We'd return. There's also all the Victorian architecture. Cape May may be the landmark city but in its mile-square footprint Ocean Grove has to have the largest inventory of mid-late 19th century architecture anywhere. Frills and filigree cheek by jowl. It's a confection for the eye.

Our room was not big but had everything we needed including a lovely little deck and a view of the ocean. The entire inn is adorable with very helpful, super nice staff. Breakfast on the porch (enclosed w clear awnings for winter) was very generous and hosted by the very sweet Maria who made fresh eggs and pancakes. While many hotels seem to have given up on breakfast during the pandemic, these guys kept it safe and satisfying. This is extra impressive because they had very few guests during off season but still made the effort to host us all well. We look forward to returning in the future.
