I had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life at La Quinta Inn & Suites Springfield, IL. When I checked into my room, I immediately found an ant infestation and mattresses that were filthy, with stains that looked like blood.
When I reported it to the front desk, I was shocked to be told they could give me spray so I could handle the ants myself. That’s completely unacceptable. Guests should never be expected to perform their own pest control.
I contacted Wyndham Hotels expecting help, but instead I was told to wait a week for the property to respond. After all of that, I was offered just 15,000 points. Meanwhile, I had to leave and get another hotel. I am out nearly $400.00 from this experience.
This was more than an inconvenience—it was a health and safety issue. The lack of cleanliness, accountability, and customer care was beyond disappointing. I would never recommend this property, and I will not be staying with Wyndham again.
