Not amazing.
Not the best. Location was amazing...room was clean. I recieved an upgrade upon check in but the room was not what i would have booked. The room was NEXT to the restaurant entrance for the hotel so i was unable to open the blinds without people looking thru my window. Room was beautiful but old and very dark. Spa bathtub was a nice surprise though. Restaurant noise and the scent of marajuana was annoying. I tried to have dinner on the rooftop but was denied a menu due to a wedding. Beautiful property, i might give them a second chance sometime

Great hotel
Lovely older hotel on Ocean Avenue, in the heart of galleries, shops and restaurants, and a short walk to Carmel beach. We booked a room with a double bed, knowing it was much smaller than our King at home, which size wise was ok for one night. But the mattress was old and saggy, leading to an uncomfortable night's sleep. Otherwise, everything was terrific, including free parking at the hotel, which is at a premium in central Carmel. We highly recommend the hotel...just don't book that double bed room!

Lovely hotel, but a few things to know
The hotel is beautiful. Our room was amazing. My #1 issue is that the parking lot for overnight guests has less spots than rooms in the hotel. 3 times I had to find street parking, and it was a very busy weekend. My closest walk was 7 mins and my longest 15. And the first time I tried I drove around for more than an hour looking for ANYWHERE to park. So, be smart before booking this hotel if you’re not up for that. Second thing: only electric baseboard heat. Very tough to manage the temperature in the room. And last, no coffee maker and no coffee shop or in lobby. You need to go across the street and it doesn’t open until 6:30am. That’s about an hour later than I want coffee.
