Title: Starlink, comfortable beds and right on the lake
I booked my first nights here on Expedia and ended up staying four. Bahía Taitzá is a small independent hotel on the north shore of Lake Petén Itzá, across from Flores. The beds are really comfortable, the rooms are well kept, the Wi-Fi is Starlink (fast and dependable), and there's a wading pool to cool off in. A second restaurant is being built and plenty of other improvements are underway. It's far quieter than the island, where party boats run late, and the owners run it themselves. A great base for Tikal and Yaxhá if you want comfort, calm and the water. You'll want a car or tuk-tuk to get over to Flores.
