The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke

The hotel is located in the centre of Riga. It s very comfortable and has the amenities one would need for his stay. Breakfast is very good and consists of hot and cold items with a great selection. I would like to point out that it would be better to have the juices and water cooled as they were.too warm to.drink in July and we.had to ask.for ice every day. Housekeeping did a good job although they tend to miss leaving coffee capsules for the coffee machine..I had to ask the night staff to give us some. I have to mention George who was very helpful and informative. I would recommend this hotel any time and surely return to it when I visit Riga

This hotel is a very good place to stay in Riga indeed! I really like the dinner I had there, especially their soups are really nice! However the breakfast was not as good as I expected! The room was not quiet, you will realize it when a tram passes nearby! =)) Well, the staff is very kind and the location is just great and in walk distance to everywhere you plan to visit! PS: If you are planning to park your car in front of the hotel or somewhere around you better get some info in advance from the hotel for instance. I saw some parking tickets(red colour) hanging on the front windows of the cars parked there. Just a friendly reminder, check this parking availability before coming there by your car :) Everything is in walking distance in Riga old town so you do not need even public transportation actually...

Clean, comfortable, newly-refurbished rooms; but towels a bit thin. Nice breakfast, with plenty of choice for all tastes, which seemed to be constantly replenished. At 0800 there was no crush at breakfast, unlike some places I have been. Hotel in great position for exploring Riga. Only 10-15 mins walk to almost everywhere, including bus and train stations. Unless you intend to visit all museums, two full days should be more than enough to do justice to the city. For a day out of the city, Sigulda is just over an hour away by bus or train (bus & train fares very cheap). We went out by bus and back by train. Castle well worth the entrance fee and cable car gave great views of the forested valley. Sigulda is a place for walking; don’t expect to visit Sigulda for shops!

It’s ok, sometimes I expect more to a 4 star but I understand that because it is located centrally & most visited sites are in easily reach therefore I have to compromise with the room space. Food is great. Staff just need to smile. Smile is not expensive & it make a difference.
