We had a very pleasant stay at Aramya Riverfront Boutique Resort. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable, and the pool is fantastic. The hotel also has a wonderful setting with great views of the surrounding rainforest.
The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. The reception team was incredibly friendly and helpful – when our daughter needed medication, they even arranged it for us free of charge. They also organised a fantastic jungle hike for our family, which we really enjoyed. The restaurant staff were equally kind, attentive and hardworking.
The food was perfectly fine, although we have eaten better elsewhere during our trip through Sri Lanka. One thing we found a little disappointing was the atmosphere during meals: fairly loud pop music was played in the restaurant. This is of course a matter of personal taste, but for us it didn’t really match the beautiful rainforest setting.
It is also worth mentioning that parts of the hotel were still under construction during our stay, so there was some noise at times. Maintenance also seems to be a bit of a challenge, and not every part of the property is in perfect condition – although we can imagine that keeping everything pristine in a tropical rainforest climate with so much rain is not easy.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. The beautiful rooms, pool, location and especially the genuinely friendly and helpful staff made it a very positive experience.
